Required experience and skills

• Strong project management experience within UK CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design and build, including projects of circa £1m–£10m.
• Proven experience of programme management, mobilisation, logistics, design coordination, supply-chain leadership, quality control and handover.
• Competent practical understanding of CAT A and CAT B MEP, fire-safety and technical packages, including coordination, sequencing, commissioning and compliance.
• Sound knowledge of Building Regulations affecting fit-out and refurbishment, including relevant HRB controls and dutyholder interfaces.
• Working knowledge of delivering & administering projects under the JCT 2024 Design and Build Contract, with the ability to recognise obligations, change, delay, notice and record requirements and involve Commercial at the right time.
• Enough commercial capability to manage a selected less complex project below £1m, including budget control, procurement, applications, variations, supplier accounts, forecasting and final account.
• Confident client communication, stakeholder management, meeting chairing and written reporting skills.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, programming and project-management software and common data environments such as ACC.
• Current role-appropriate health-and-safety competence and site qualifications.
• Confident, responsible use of AI tools, with appropriate human checking and confidentiality controls.
• A degree, HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent construction qualification; CIOB membership; SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid; and experience in occupied or higher-risk buildings would all be advantageous.

The type of person who will thrive in this role

We’re looking for someone who combines energy and strong people skills with disciplined project control and genuine technical curiosity.

You’re likely to be someone who:

• Enjoys being close to the client, the team and the site, and takes visible ownership when decisions are needed.
• Can turn a complex set of drawings, dependencies and stakeholder needs into a clear, credible plan.
• Spots risk early, records it properly and follows it through to closure.
• Is comfortable getting into the detail of MEP, fire strategy, compliance and commissioning rather than treating them as someone else’s problem.
• Builds trust quickly but remains willing to challenge the client, designer or supply chain when the project needs it.
• Understands that good commercial outcomes start with good operational decisions and reliable records.
• Can occasionally switch into full project-commercial ownership on a smaller, less complex scheme and knows when to ask for support.
• Takes pride in an organised handover, minimal defects and a client who wants to work with us again.

This role might not be right for you if:

• You prefer to manage projects mainly from a desk and do not want regular, visible involvement on site (across the UK).
• You see programme, design coordination, safety, quality or handover as responsibilities that sit entirely with somebody else.
• You are uncomfortable challenging technical information or coordinating MEP, fire-safety and specialist packages.
• You tend to raise change or risk after the event rather than protecting records and escalating it early.
• You want either a pure quantity-surveying role or a role with no commercial responsibility at all; the core role is Delivery, but selected sub-£1m projects may require both.
• You prefer working in silos rather than sharing accountability across Sales, Design, Commercial and Delivery.
• You are looking for a remote or remote-leaning hybrid role. We’re “Face First”: if something can be done better in person, we believe it should be done face to face.

A final note This is a role for someone who loves making complex projects feel controlled: aligning people and information, solving problems early and staying close to the detail without losing sight of the client experience.

You don’t need to arrive knowing everything about Interaction. You do need strong fit-out delivery fundamentals, sound judgement, technical curiosity and the confidence to lead openly and collaboratively.

Salary Range: £55k - £80k OTE subject to experience & seniority.
