About Huawei
Huawei’s products and services are available in more than 170 countries and are used by a third of the world’s population. Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) is one of Huawei’s three business units and covers smartphones, PC and tablets, wearables and cloud services, etc.
Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) is part of CBG and it develops new cloud services that are offered free of charge to Huawei mobile device users.
HMS ecosystem is now the third largest ecosystem in the world. As of September 2020, 96,000 global apps have integrated with HMS Core. HMS Apps continues to launch globally, with content apps such as HUAWEI Music, HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Themes, HUAWEI Reader and HUAWEI Game Center taking center stage in various countries and regions.
About the IRC
Huawei Ireland Research Centre (IRC) mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. To achieve this we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The IRC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Resource Sourcing
- Understand business and research needs and support the Director of Research Collaboration and Innovation in developing and continuously enhancing the strategic landscape for technology partnerships within the assigned domain.
- Identify, assess, and source high-quality academic, technical, and industry partnership resources to ensure a strong and readily available partner pipeline.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential partners and proactively identify opportunities for collaboration.

Partnership Project Management & Execution
- Support the Director of Research Collaboration and Innovation in ensuring that partnership activities are conducted in a structured, compliant, and efficient manner.
- Stay abreast of advanced partnership models and industry best practices, and support the monitoring and management of technology collaboration projects.
- Track project progress, facilitate cross-functional communication, and drive the timely translation of collaboration outcomes into business and product value.
Technology Scouting & Insights
- Support the Director of Research Collaboration and Innovation in connecting with academic and technology ecosystems and developing in-depth relationships with leading local academic and technical resources.
- Identify and analyze academic resources, emerging technologies, and potential collaboration opportunities within the assigned domain.
- Develop and maintain a technology and resource map based on the key technical areas covered by the research institute.
- Identify high-value technology leads, strengthen strategic technology pipelines, and identify innovative ideas with potential for further incubation and collaboration.
- Translate technology insights and opportunities into actionable partnership initiatives to enhance the organization's technological competitiveness.
Academic Ecosystem Development
- Support the Director of Research Collaboration and Innovation in building and expanding the academic ecosystem and exploring emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with leading academic institutions, researchers, and technical experts.
- Organize and coordinate academic activities, workshops, technology seminars, and other knowledge-sharing events to strengthen the institute's engagement with the academic community.
- Help identify and influence emerging research directions and facilitate collaboration opportunities that contribute to business and research objectives.

Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of academic and talent resource mapping, sourcing, and technology scouting methodologies, with the ability to identify and evaluate potential collaboration resources.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in a technology, research, academic, or innovation environment.
- Strong interest in learning and exploring emerging technologies and new technical domains.
- Ability to quickly understand new technologies, identify potential collaboration opportunities, and translate insights into actionable initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with researchers, technical experts, business stakeholders, and external partners.
