Funds managed by Cinven typically acquire companies that require an equity investment by a Cinven fund of €100 million or more. Cinven has a strong and consistent investment track record, focusing on six sectors: Business Services, Consumer, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrials, and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT). Cinven funds acquire successful, high-quality companies and work with them to help them grow and develop, using the firm’s proven value creation strategies. The typical holding period for an investment is between four and six years. Cinven is currently investing the Eight (€13.2bn) Fund.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Intern will work closely with the Benelux and other sector teams across a broad range of opportunities engaging in a wide variety of tasks, which include:
    • Assisting the investment team with the analysis of potential acquisitions
    • Conducting strategic market and competitor analysis and research
    • Building an in-depth understanding of individual business models and their cost structures

Candidate Profile & Specific Skills

Candidate Profile:

  • Successful candidates are final-year bachelor or master degree students with good grades from an academic university, typically in one of the following fields of study: finance, mathematics, or engineering. This will be combined with relevant prior investing, banking, or consulting internship experience (at least 3 months) and a genuine interest in Cinven and the Private Equity industry.

Specific Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities
  • A mastery of Excel and an understanding of complex financial models
  • Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact well in a team environment
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Show drive and commitment to exceed
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately while under pressure

Role Specifics

  • This is a full-time internship, based in Cinven’s London office. The intern will be required to come into the office a minimum of 4 days per week.
