Job Description
As a Software Engineer for Alternative Asset Management Technology (AAMT), you will develop and manage innovative technologies for our Alternative Asset Management teams. You will design, build, test, deploy, and support functionality across a variety of stacks and platforms as well as operate as a mentor to other technologists to do the same.
Through partnering with business stakeholders, you'll drive business value while also producing elegant engineering solutions. Internal applications are built using a highly scalable serverless and/or microservice architecture that is deployed via Terraform into AWS. Key technologies in this framework include React, Typescript, Next.js, Python, C#, SQL, Docker, Terraform and AWS.
You will be expected to take ownership of projects and find gaps in design with Blackstone product managers. You will tackle a variety of problems from automating business processes and scaling out infrastructure to promoting reusable components across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and support software solutions used across the firm
- Develop applications, services, APIs, and automation capabilities
- Build scalable systems that process and manage large volumes of data
- Contribute to cloud-native architectures and platform engineering initiatives
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to turn ideas into production solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and software delivery processes
- Write and review code with AI-assisted development tools, using firm-approved plugins, skills, and standards that accelerate the development lifecycle
- Improve operational efficiency by automating repetitive tasks and workflows
- Learn and apply modern engineering practices, tools, and technologies

Qualifications:
- Desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial attitude
- Familiarity with developing applications in any one of the public cloud providers, preferably AWS.
- Strong programming fundamentals in any modern programming language
- Strong communication skills
- Curiosity about applying AI and emerging technologies to real world problems
- Experience driving your projects from inception to completion
- Willingness to teach, coach, and mentor others
- Experience producing high quality code and solicit feedback
- Willingness to take a position and share views freely in a constructive and solution-based manner
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with database technology (relational and/or NoSQL)
- Experience in one or more of messaging, caching, automation, agentic development, and UI frameworks is a plus
