Role Description/Criteria

Key Responsibilities

  • A strong commitment to Catholic education and the ethos of Catholic schools.
  • A strong commitment to child safety, including maintaining best practices to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Establish a positive, inclusive, calm and orderly classroom environment in alignment with MACS Vision for Engagement.
  • Teach, model and implement responsive teaching techniques and school-wide routines in alignment with MACS Vision for Instruction.
  • A strong commitment to collaborate effectively with colleagues, including analysis of student data to inform planning.
  • Implement individual learning adjustments and support strategies where required.

Special Requirements

  • Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable or a willingness to obtain accreditation.
  • Have read and be committed to maintaining the standards set out in our MACS Code of Conduct and Child Safety Policies.
  • Successful teachers will be required to have a sound understanding of the 11 Child Safe Standards and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing and inclusion of all children.
  • Completion and submission of the 'Application For Employment' document.

Application Procedures

The application will include a:

  • Completed Application Form
  • A one-page Cover Letter describing your suitability for the position
  • Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae with contact details of 3 referees, including that of your current Principal or a Principal from placement
  • Short responses (no more than one page) to the following 3 Selection Criteria
    • Demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and a willingness to support the values and vision of St Robert’s.
    • Build positive relationships with students and create a safe, supportive and well-managed classroom.
    • Work collaboratively with staff and families and contribute to the Catholic life and wider community of St Robert’s.
