Programme overview:
Our 2027 London Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 14 June 2027 and finishing on Friday 20 August 2027. This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the asset and wealth management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.
Throughout the programme you will:
- Take part in comprehensive introductory training to build your understanding of the business
- Be assigned to a team where you will contribute to live projects and gain meaningful hands-on experience
- Shadow experienced professionals and learn directly from leaders in the field
- Have opportunities to network with colleagues and other interns, helping you build connections for your future career
This internship provides practical experience, skill development, and a strong foundation for those interested in pursuing a career in the asset and wealth management industry.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking driven and client-focused individuals who are passionate about asset management and eager to contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in financial markets, a commercial mindset, and the ability to build strong relationships with both colleagues and clients. You should be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including senior professionals and external clients. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are keen to make a tangible impact, we would like to hear from you.
Required skills and capabilities:
- Shows genuine interest in asset management and current market trends, with the ability to discuss the impact of economic events on investments and form well-reasoned opinions on commercial or financial matters.
- Demonstrates moderate understanding of finance, able to discuss macro-level topics with clients and articulate insights effectively.
- Acts as a self-starter who is driven and passionate, willingly takes initiative, and seeks out opportunities - evidenced by leading or launching projects, societies, or volunteering activities.
- Maintains composure and methodical thinking under pressure, balancing commitments and delivering results even in high-pressure environments.
- Confident, authentic communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to adapt style to different audiences, present clearly, and build rapport - whether in person, over the phone, or in client-facing situations.
- Manages time, tasks, and expectations effectively, demonstrating event or project coordination skills, diary management, and successful use of organisational tools.
- Analytical and resourceful, quickly understands client issues, listens actively, and identifies practical, effective solutions using available tools and networks.
- Works well in teams, prioritises client needs, and develops strong, trust-based relationships with clients and colleagues, maintaining a professional network.

The team:
Client Group is a central function that integrates expertise in product, marketing, and sales. Our team operates across three key areas to ensure everything we do is guided by our clients’ needs and expectations:
- Value Proposition: Develops tailored investment offerings by analysing market trends, reviewing competitor activity, and working alongside investment teams to create innovative solutions that our clients value.
- Sales Activation: Delivers local sales strategies and deepens client relationships, focusing on growth opportunities and ensuring high standards of client service across regions.
- Delivery: Partners with technology and operations to drive efficient, data-driven processes, leveraging insights and tools to continuously enhance client engagement.
Our clients range from central banks and pension schemes to family offices and wealth advisors globally. The Client Group’s integrated approach ensures that every solution and interaction is client-centric, leading to exceptional service and strong, lasting relationships.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:
- When the internship commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate with a degree (or equivalent) in 2028.
- We welcome applications from all degree subjects.
- Please note that we do not accept applications from students in their final year who intend to undertake further study (e.g. a Master's degree) before entering employment.
- A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to understand our target audiences.
