Role Overview And Key Deliverables Of This Role
As a Graduate Engineer within the Advanced Rebar Manufacturing Facility (ARMF), you will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems, equipment, digital technologies and operational processes. You will work alongside experienced engineering, manufacturing and operational professionals to help deliver one of the UK's most advanced manufacturing environments.
This role provides exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies, production systems, automation, commissioning, operational readiness and Industry 4.0 solutions. Throughout the programme, you will gain practical engineering experience whilst developing the knowledge, behaviours and technical skills required to become a future engineering leader within Laing O'Rourke.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with manufacturing system, equipment and technology implementation projects.
- Support operational readiness, commissioning and mobilisation activities across the facility.
- Contribute to production planning, performance monitoring and operational reporting.
- Assist with process mapping and development of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Support quality, safety and continuous improvement programmes.
- Participate in workshops, design reviews and technical assessments.
- Develop an understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, logistics and quality functions.
- Produce technical reports, performance analysis and presentations to support operational decision-making.

Entry Requirements
We are looking for graduates who meet the following criteria:
- Studying a degree course with a clear route to professional accreditation
- Your degree classification should be 2:2 or higher
- Entry degrees will be listed within each of our graduate vacancies and differ from role to role
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Flexibility as you may be required to work away
- Eligible to work in the UK

Our Recruitment Process
Location - Dartford, London, Spain and Sizewell C Project
This graduate role may be based across several Laing O'Rourke manufacturing, engineering and project locations depending on business and operational requirements.
Potential locations include:
- Advanced Rebar Manufacturing Facility (ARMF)
- London project offices and operational locations, including London and Dartford
- Laing O'Rourke manufacturing and engineering facilities in Spain
- Other UK project and manufacturing locations as required
You will need to be flexible regarding your place of work. Depending on project and business requirements, this may involve travel, temporary assignments, staying away from home during the week, or relocation to support manufacturing, engineering and project delivery activities. In return, you will gain valuable experience across a range of operational, manufacturing and construction environments, helping to accelerate your professional development and broaden your career opportunities.
