Join our Geotechnical Engineering team and help shape some of the UK and Ireland’s most important infrastructure, buildings, energy, and development projects. You’ll work with engineers, engineering geologists, and specialists to assess the ground beneath our projects and develop safe, sustainable solutions that support resilient communities and the transition to a lower carbon future.
Opportunities are available in: Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Hertford, London, Guildford, Southampton, and Exeter.
A little bit more about your role and the team
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will help us understand how ground conditions influence the way major projects are planned, designed, and delivered across sectors including transport, energy, housing, flood resilience, tunnelling, and infrastructure.
You will gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle, from ground investigation and data interpretation through to design, reporting, and construction support, helping to create practical solutions for complex engineering challenges.
Working with multidisciplinary teams and experienced colleagues, you’ll build your technical confidence, apply engineering judgment, and contribute to projects that make a lasting difference for clients and communities.

What we’re looking for
- You will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree. This could include Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology. Graduates in Earth and Environment are also considered.
- You will be looking to start work in September 2027.
- You will have an interest in geology, ground engineering, and how technical decisions shape the design and delivery of civil engineering projects.
- You will be curious, analytical, and motivated to solve technical challenges linked to sustainable project delivery.
- You will be comfortable collaborating with others, sharing ideas, and learning from different specialists across project teams.
- You will be able to share ideas clearly, ask questions, and explain technical information in reports and project discussions.
- You will be keen to learn, take ownership, and broaden your skills with support from experienced colleagues.
- You will be willing to travel for site work.
