This is an entry-level one-year placement internship aimed at those between their penultimate and final year of study, studying a degree that allows for placement years. We are looking for motivated, analytical, and highly numerate individuals from all academic backgrounds to join our market-leading team based in London, from September 2027 to August 2028.

About The Role

In Economic & Financial Consulting, we provide expert advice on economics, finance, valuation, and accountancy, both in complex commercial disputes and in industries undergoing regulatory change.

Our practice is structured around two key service areas:

Valuation, Disputes and Arbitration

  • Valuation advice for a breadth of clients, from large public companies to small family businesses, on subject areas that range from patents to complex financial derivatives.
  • Leading expert firm in advising on valuations in the context of legal disputes heard before courts and tribunals worldwide.
  • Specialist teams:
    • Data and Economics team: Applies economic, econometric, and statistical analysis in projects with large volumes of data or where questions of cause-and-effect are important.
    • Capital Market Services team: Provides complex financial instruments trading, valuation, and risk management expertise, bringing financial services and energy industry expertise in quantitative finance.

What You’ll Do

Our placement interns play a key role in our project teams by performing industry research and conducting detailed economic analysis and financial modelling to solve the most complex questions. They benefit significantly from working closely with managers and other team members in small teams, as well as from direct exposure to some of the top experts in the industry.

After comprehensive training, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial models, using Excel, coding software, and financial databases such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
  • Using statistical software packages to perform econometric analysis of industry and market data or power-market modelling software to forecast future energy market outlooks.
  • Researching companies, markets, or geographies to understand what industry features are relevant to the project.
  • Reviewing the regulatory landscape and drawing parallels with our client’s industry.
  • Summarising your work in emails, memos, or slide decks, clearly presenting your results and drawing relevant conclusions.
  • Taking responsibility for the quality of the final product.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Have received a 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent) from the first year of university.
  • Due to graduate university in 2029.
  • Available to work a full-time internship from 6th September 2027 – 25th August 2028 in the UK.
  • Numerate, logical, and inquisitive team player, who can think independently and creatively.
  • Ability to demonstrate your quantitative skills, whether academically or in other ways (finance/STEM backgrounds are not a prerequisite).

STEP 3: Attend an assessment centre day, including a competency-based interview, a group exercise, and an interview with a senior manager between 11th-13th November 2026.

STEP 4: Placement offers are made to successful candidates before Christmas.
