Business Area Overview

Markets Engineering is the technology and quantitative engineering arm that builds and maintains the systems powering MUFG.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Pricing & Valuation systems – Libraries and platforms that price vanilla and exotic products and compute official valuations.
  • Quantitative models – Implementing, integrating, and productionizing models from Quant Research (e.g., SSABR vol surfaces, copula-based spread-option models) into robust, testable code.
  • Risk & Analytics – Delta, vega, and other sensitivities; scenario and stress frameworks; Value-at-Risk and FRTB-SA capital calculations.
  • Trade & market data infrastructure – Market data capture/curation, curve and surface construction, trade capture, and lifecycle processing.
  • Regulatory & control deliverables – Margin (IM/VM), PnL attribution, Totem/consensus submissions, and model-governance support.

What to Expect

Our 18-month Analyst Programme is a direct-placement role and it starts with a comprehensive training program designed to develop a sound understanding of our product lines, our clients, and our business strategies.

As a part of the Analyst Programme, you’ll tackle, and help to solve, some of the most complex problems we face. You will help provide cutting-edge solutions across the business from pricing to hedging and risk, and help us respond with market-leading innovation. Your ideas will be heard and right from the start you will be given real responsibility and have the ability to make a valuable contribution.

As part of a select intake, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best professionals in the industry and will be allocated a buddy to ensure you have all the support you need to make the most of your Analyst experience.

Our Summer Analyst Programme serves as a pipeline into the full-time MUFG Analyst Programme, and successful interns may receive an offer to join the full-time Analyst Programme the following year.
