Programme Length: Two years
Programme Type: Rotational (Year 1 - 2 x 6 months & Year 2 - 1 x 12 months)
At the FCA, we develop and uphold the rules that keep financial markets fair, protect consumers, and support the UK economy, powered by people committed to creating positive change. As a graduate, you’ll be part of shaping those outcomes.
You’ll rotate across teams, gaining exposure to different areas of financial services – from regulatory frameworks and consumer protection to strategy and firm supervision.
From day one, you’ll help deliver important work, expand your capabilities, and start building a career that has lasting impact.
About the Programme
Our Regulatory Graduate Programme offers a unique opportunity to build a broad understanding of financial regulation while developing the skills and experience needed for a rewarding career at the FCA. It provides exposure to a wide range of teams and specialisms, helping you discover where your skills and interests can have the greatest impact.
Over two years, you'll complete rotational placements across key areas of the FCA, which may include Authorisations, Policy, Supervision, Market Oversight, Enforcement, and Risk Management & Compliance. Through these varied experiences, you'll gain insight into the full regulatory lifecycle and the role regulation plays in protecting consumers, maintaining market integrity and supporting effective competition.
You'll develop technical knowledge of financial services and regulatory frameworks while building core professional skills in judgement, engagement, self-management and delivery. Depending on your rotations, you could support vulnerable consumers, contribute to high-profile investigations, help shape regulatory policy, supervise firms, or provide insights that inform strategic decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
