Day to Day Work

A typical day would include building strong relationships and working through deals. This includes calling other agents, investigating comparable evidence, meeting with clients, and visiting properties. It is a truly varied role and no day is the same.

About This Role

The Savills Sandwich Placement Programme provides students the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the industry, market, and Savills teams and clients, contributing towards your APC experience (if studying a cognate degree). Savills offers three routes as a sandwich placement student which are either Commercial, Residential or Development.

London Sandwich Placement Roles

Rating – Business rates are a tax on commercial property that affects businesses across all sectors and are a core valuation discipline within surveying. Savills' nationally recognised Rating team offers a one-year placement based at Finsbury Circus House in the City of London. Working alongside Directors and RICS-qualified surveyors, you will gain hands-on experience inspecting and valuing commercial property, analysing market evidence, advising clients, and supporting business rates appeals. Students who perform well during their placement are strongly positioned for future graduate opportunities.

Development Viability – Our team specialises in the evaluation of financial viability for real estate projects, working alongside a range of private and public sector clients in order to navigate planning requirements, optimise land value, and provide strategic advice to ensure projects can be successfully delivered.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
