The Programme

PJT Partners' London Strategic Advisory Summer Associate Programme is a 10-week internship beginning in June/July 2027, designed for current MBA students seeking a career in Investment Banking. Summer Associates work directly alongside senior bankers and deal teams, gaining hands-on exposure to live transactions from day one.

Responsibilities

As a Summer Associate, you will be a genuine part of the deal team, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Evaluating, structuring, and recommending financial and strategic alternatives, including the analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic combinations, asset sales, and divestitures.
  • Supporting the day-to-day execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and the negotiation of contracts and other agreements; working with senior management and coordinating analyst materials.
  • Analysing financial data and developments in financial markets relevant to the business of PJT Partners.
  • Conducting research of targeted industries for investment purposes.
  • Performing valuation analysis of prospective investment opportunities under consideration, including the assessment of financial risks.
  • Comparing a company's financial data with other companies of the same industry, size, and location to forecast industry trends.
  • Designing and developing quantitative models to assess the economic performance of targeted companies.
  • Preparing written analysis and evaluations of investment opportunities for use by PJT Partners management and review by clients.
  • Participating in both internal and external client meetings, negotiation of contracts and other agreements, and due diligence sessions.

Qualifications

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and proven self-starters. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have demonstratable interest in working in Investment Banking, excellent communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, and a desire to work in a team environment. To be considered for the position, applicants must also meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time MBA programme
  • Anticipated graduation between August 2027 and July 2028
  • Demonstrable interest in investment banking
  • Strong academic record with a background in finance/accounting preferred
  • Resume must state expected graduation month and year
  • Resume must be submitted in PDF format
