Job Description

Overview of the Job

The job holder will undertake the full range of work with people on probation before and after sentence. This will include assessment, sentence implementation, offender management, and producing reports. The job holder will provide case management support to a full range of people on probation utilizing service procedures and practice directions that underpin professional judgement.

Probation services officers are required to work within a variety of settings. There may be opportunities for positions within Probation Delivery Units (PDU), Courts, Prisons, Approved Premises, etc., depending on business requirement.

Working Arrangements & Further Information

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites, and/or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone’s circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
