Job Description: Case Administrator

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, starting from 9am with some evening working to cover late night appointments.

Role Overview: Case Administrators play a vital support role in probation teams, helping to keep the public safe and giving people the chance to turn their lives around. This role offers the opportunity to make a difference, gain new skills, and build a rewarding career within the Probation Service.

Responsibilities:

  • Support probation staff to work with people on probation.
  • Ensure all processes run efficiently.
  • Maintain systems properly.
  • Collate and prepare probation information for case files.
  • Handle enquiries from colleagues, agencies, and people on probation.

Qualifications:

  • Empathetic, patient, and organized individuals are sought.
  • Successful candidates may be based in various office, court, team, or prison locations within the Probation Service region.

Salary:

  • Starting salary: £24,645, pro-rata for part-time roles.
  • Opportunities for annual pay progression through a Competency Based Framework (CBF).

Right to Work in the UK:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Role is not eligible for a new Skilled Worker visa from 22 July 2025.

Recruitment Process:

  • Complete a short application form.
  • Detail responses to Civil Service Behaviours and Experience-based questions.
  • Sit the Civil Service Judgement test (CSJT).
  • Assessment and progression may occur in stages (tranches).

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows.
  • Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding unpaid breaks.
