The Role
To provide clinical leadership and expert advice to all nursing staff in the delivery of care within their area of responsibility including recruitment, supervision, development and deployment of unit staff. The post holder will have continual 24 hour responsibility for the management of the ward/department. The post holder will undertake regular rotational cover of the Directorate or Hospital to provide leadership, deal with clinical issues, immediate management issues and deploy staff as appropriate. To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.

- Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
- Responsible for the management of the clinical environment, including work allocation, deployment and supervision of staff. As unit priorities change, this allocation will be continually assessed and tasks re-allocated.
- Provide leadership encouragement and motivation to the nursing team to ensure that the patient/and their carers remain firmly at the centre of all care delivery.
- Utilise advanced speciality skills to facilitate intervention for patients
What You'll Bring
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
