Role Overview
Are you looking to be part of a friendly, dynamic AHP team for children and young people? Would you like to belong to a team committed to developing innovative ways of working and encouraging personal and professional development? If so, we have a post for you. This post is for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker, providing a service for children and young people from 0-18 years across Dumfries and Galloway in the form of equipment, clinical, non-clinical, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Be a team player and have excellent communication skills with children, families, and other professionals; including face-to-face discussions, via telephone, and email.
- Work sensitively with confidential information.
- Write clinical notes and basic reports, therefore should have a good level of written English as well as be computer literate.
- Complete a range of administrative tasks and non-clinical activities on a daily basis, to support the running of the service in line with Scottish Government Guidance on the Provision of Equipment and Adaptations.
- Work autonomously, co-ordinating their own workload under the supervision and line management of a qualified Occupational Therapist.
Service Alignment
The service is fully aligned to Ready to Act (2016) with offers at universal, targeted, and individualised care (specialist) committed to delivering support at each level.
Support and Training
- Ongoing support and training is available through your individualised job plan.
- Operational, Professional, and Clinical supervision are key aspects of the service, and you would have an Annual Development Review.
Location
Our main base is at The Willows, a purposely redesigned multi-disciplinary Children and Family’s Centre, set in the beautiful Crichton grounds in Dumfries. However, you can work in a variety of locations across the community and therefore must be able to travel independently.

Right to Work in the United Kingdom
