About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated midwife to join our Midwifery team to support our Maternity Services across Dumfries and Galloway.
Our Inpatient Service
Our inpatient service is a consultant led maternity unit with approximately 1000 births per year. The Birthing Suite has 6 en-suite bedrooms with various equipment to support mobilisation during labour, 2 with birthing pools and the Maternity ward. The Maternity ward consists of 12 en-suite bedrooms with home comforts. The team pride themselves on delivering family centred, evidence based antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to all families that access our service. The inpatient area delivers care 24 hours a day on a shift basis, these are either 12 or 6 hours in length.

Our Community Midwifery Service
Our community midwifery service works in teams based in community hubs across the region and also supports a region wide home birth service.
About the Position
This position is intended to be based within the inpatient service however there may be opportunity for community based or hybrid working in future as our service seeks to offer midwives a varied experience across the range of maternity services supporting continuous professional development and exposure to different teams and department.
