We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Bank Staff Telephonists to support NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s switchboard service. This bank role is essential in providing flexible cover across the service, helping maintain a central communication and information hub for staff, patients, and the public.
As a member of the Telephonist team, you will work alongside experienced Telephonists to help sustain a high-quality, responsive service. Bank staff play a key role in supporting safe and effective cover during periods of absence, increased demand, and 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service requirements.

Bank Staff Should Have
- Effective communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, especially during emergency procedures.
- Flexibility and availability to support bank shifts across a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service.
Successful candidates will bring an enthusiastic, proactive attitude and will understand the importance of bank staff in helping the switchboard service remain resilient, responsive, and consistently staffed.
