The Role
To provide professional podiatric care in a variety of settings as an autonomous practitioner while remaining part of a wider team. Providing a high level of care both palliative and corrective treatments as part of a care plan whilst liaising or referring to other Health Care Professionals or Agencies as appropriate. To plan, manage and organise own workload to ensure effective caseload management of a diverse range of patients, mainly within the community setting, ensuring appropriate delegation and on-going supervision of previously assessed patients to Podiatry Technicians.
In This Key Role, You Will
- As part of the Podiatry Department within a Unit provide direct access service to the whole of the Unit population.
- Delivery of a balanced caseload (clinical and domiciliary) is expected.
- As an autonomous clinician has the ability to justify a programme of care when challenged.
- Work autonomously and be responsible for managing own caseload within the legal and ethical boundaries as set by the Health and care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Prioritise caseload ensuring that emergency access is available.

What You'll Bring
- Health and Care Professions Council Registered with a degree/ diploma in Podiatric Medicine
- Local Analgesia Certificate
- Working knowledge of Policies, Procedures and Protocols relevant to Podiatry in NHS Lanarkshire e.g. Infection Control and Health and Safety.
- Caring attitude towards patients and their carers.
- The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs.
- High level of personal and professional motivation.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
