Salary

Job Description
NHS Lothian’s specialist ME/CFS/Long Covid Service are very pleased to be advertising this Specialist Occupational Therapy post, offered on a 10-month fixed-term basis (covering maternity leave). This provides an excellent opportunity for professional development within a very friendly, motivated and welcoming team, based at the Astley Ainslie Hospital in Edinburgh (some hybrid home working may be required). New funding has been made available via Scottish Government to expand the existing ME/CFS multi-disciplinary team to support patients who are experiencing functional, occupational, cognitive, social and emotional impacts relating to chronic fatigue. You will be joining an established team which includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychology colleagues, enabling multi-disciplinary care and support, tailored to the individual’s needs. You will also have regular access to the wider chronic fatigue/Long Covid support services, which include Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant, Lothian Work Support Service and Speech and Language Therapy. This enables case discussion/consultation and cross-referrals to other members of the team, where appropriate. This Specialist Occupational Therapy post will provide a key and valued role in the MDT in providing assessment and tailored approaches (in line with NICE Guidelines, 2021). Access to training and regular support will be provided by the team to ensure that you feel confident in working within this area of practice.
