Senior Research Nurse
Oncology Clinical Trials
MATERNITY COVER: 1 Year Fixed Term
AFC Band 6 £43,231 - £52, 679 Pro-rata
Base: SE Scottish Cancer Research Network, Department of Oncology, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh
Applications are invited to apply for a Part-time research nurse post to support the Oncology Research Team within the Scottish Cancer Research Network.
You will be responsible for the recruitment, care, and treatment of patients involved in clinical trials with a wide variety of malignancies. The post holder will need to work with a high degree of independence, interpreting protocols and caring for this patient group. You will work closely with other research nurses, clinicians, data managers, and the multidisciplinary team throughout the SCAN region. This involves attendance and input at multidisciplinary meetings and clinics. Occasional travel out with Edinburgh to study meetings or to other hospitals in the region may be required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated nurse with experience in a related specialty who would like the opportunity to work within the Scottish Cancer Research Network. You should ideally have experience in clinical research or appropriate oncology nursing experience and be educated to degree level (or working towards). The post holder should have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, knowledge of the research process including ICH/GCP guidelines, and evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development. Attention to detail is essential, and good IT skills are expected. You must be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to an ever-changing working environment.
