We're looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Inpatient Unit team at Edinburgh Hospice. This is more than a healthcare role; it's an opportunity to provide expert, person-centred care, comfort and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families. What You Will Be Doing
As a Healthcare Assistant within our Inpatient Unit at Edinburgh Hospice, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to people living with a terminal illness. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll begin each shift by receiving a comprehensive handover to ensure seamless, high quality care for every patient.
- Support patients with personal care, mealtimes and nutritional needs, including assisting with feeding where required, while promoting comfort, dignity and independence at all times.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and build meaningful relationships with those in your care and the people important to them.
- Play an important part in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment, adhering to the highest standards of infection prevention and control.
- Contribute to creating a positive experience for patients and families, ensuring they receive the outstanding care and support they deserve when it matters most.

What we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification
- A nurturing and compassionate approach, with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently while being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team

- Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 £26,696 to £28,988 pro rata per annum plus generous enhancements for night shifts, weekends and public holidays
