Marie Curie has a fantastic opportunity for two Registered Nurses to join our Community Services team covering the Lothians. In this rewarding role, you will deliver specialist palliative care to patients in their own homes, working with a shared caseload of approximately 150-170 patients.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Carry out daily home assessments to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide telephone support
  • Coordinate management plans in partnership with GPs, District Nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Conduct complex assessments
  • Liaise closely with colleagues to ensure patient comfort and dignity
  • Supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will receive training and guidance to develop your skills, with opportunities to progress within the CNS Career Framework
  • Contribute to audit and research
  • Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Collaborate with Marie Curie Nursing Service and wider care agencies to provide compassionate, patient-centred care tailored to the needs of individuals and their families

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse qualification with postregistration experience
  • Significant postregistration experience in a healthcare setting
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Experience of collaborating with other agencies across health and social care
  • Driver's licence and access to a car is essential for travelling to various locations to provide care and support to patients and their families in their homes
  • Registered Nurse on NMC register (Adult)
  • Must be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, ensuring adherence to professional standards and regulations
  • Ability to connect with patients and their families on an emotional level, providing support and understanding during difficult times

What’s in it for me?
