Salary: AfC Band 8a – 21.6hrs permanent
NHS Lothian is seeking an experienced and ambitious Population Health Strategic Programme Manager to join our Public Health and Health Policy Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic programmes that tackle health inequalities, improve population health and influence policy and practice across a wide range of partner organisations.
Responsibilities
- Working at a senior level across health, social care, local government, the third sector, and national organisations.
- Playing a key role in shaping and delivering public health priorities that improve outcomes for communities across Lothian, with a particular focus on West Lothian.
- Being passionate about supporting child health, building healthy places and communities, and tackling health inequalities.
- Possessing excellent communication skills with strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Building productive relationships across multiple organisations and sectors.

About the Role
The Public Health and Health Policy Directorate is committed to improving and protecting the health of people across Lothian through partnership, prevention, and reducing inequalities. You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary team working on some of the most important public health challenges facing our communities today.
This is an opportunity to influence strategic decision-making at local, regional, and national levels while leading programmes that make a lasting difference to people's lives.

Please note: This role is a job share of a full-time post. It will be split with the incumbent AfC Band 8a. For operational reasons, we are looking for the successful candidate to work their hours over Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
