About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, forward thinking and highly motivated pharmacist to join the Cancer Services Senior Pharmacy Team. This post will enable continued provision of pharmacist independent prescribing clinics to patients with both haematological and solid tumour malignancies who are receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT). The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to create new SACT delivery models which will both meet the needs of the patient and our growing cancer service as it evolves over the coming years. Alongside the prescribing of SACT, you will lead on a programme of work to enable SACT delivery outside of the acute hospital setting
The Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) lies within the Southeast of Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN), providing day-case, inpatient and outpatient services for oncology and haematology patients. The pharmacists at ECC are integral to the multidisciplinary team and are highly valued to ensure accurate and safe delivery of systemic anticancer therapy. The post holder will also have responsibility for coordination of education for pharmacy and medical undergraduates, and for contribution to protocol and guideline development through departmental SACT & medicines governance groups.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- An Independent Prescribing qualification.
- Proven experience in pro-actively influencing prescribing in a cancer setting.
- A track record of delivering person-centred pharmaceutical care.
Candidates who have not completed a Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy must demonstrate substantial progress across the four pillars of the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum through:
- Engagement with the RPS Core Advanced Curriculum
- Active participation in a community of practice/peer network
- Submit a screenshot of portfolio (programme of learning page)
- Complete the RPS learning needs analysis tool to assess progress with the Core Advanced Curriculum and any gaps that will need addressed as part of PDP plans
Candidates who have completed a Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy should complete the learning needs analysis (LNA) using the LNA tool in the RPS e-portfolio, identifying any gaps that will need addressed as part of PDP plans
