Job Description: Band 5 Occupational Therapist - Enhanced Rehabilitation Service

About the Role
Are you passionate about rehabilitation and supporting people to maximise their independence, health and wellbeing? We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Enhanced Rehabilitation Service within Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership.
You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering person-centred rehabilitation in people's own homes. The service supports people with a wide range of medical conditions and levels of complexity, helping them recover, achieve meaningful goals and remain as independent as possible.
Responsibilities
- Assess occupational performance, identify individual strengths and needs, and plan, deliver and review evidence-based interventions.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner services to contribute to safe hospital discharge and recovery at home.
- Manage a delegated caseload with support from senior occupational therapist and work closely with physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, support staff and wider health and social care partners.

Requirements
- Hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be registered, or eligible for registration.
- Bring sound clinical reasoning, effective communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative, person-centred practice.

Working Conditions
- The Enhanced Rehabilitation Service operates 7 days a week, including bank holidays. The successful candidate will be required to be available a minimum of every 6 weeks to support the current rota system.
- All interviews will take place in person at a venue in Edinburgh.
Additional Information
- This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
- Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team.
