Job Opportunity: Band 5 Physiotherapist
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist looking to develop your career within an innovative community rehabilitation service?
The Enhanced Rehabilitation Service is looking for a dynamic Band 5 Physiotherapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service that is transforming how rehabilitation is delivered across Edinburgh, supporting people to recover safely and independently at home while reducing unnecessary hospital stays and avoiding admission to bed-based rehabilitation wherever possible.
Responsibilities
Working within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality assessment and rehabilitation to adults with a wide range of complex conditions following acute illness, injury or functional decline. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Support Workers, nursing colleagues, social care and acute hospital teams to deliver truly integrated, person-centred rehabilitation.

Enhanced Rehabilitation Service
Enhanced Rehabilitation provides intensive home-based rehabilitation for adults with complex rehabilitation needs following discharge from hospital. The service supports the Edinburgh Home First approach by preventing unnecessary admission to bed-based rehabilitation, supporting timely discharge from acute hospitals and delivering rehabilitation in people's own homes where outcomes are often better. The service operates within a fast-paced environment where clinical reasoning, teamwork and adaptability are essential.
Required Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who is HCPC registered Physiotherapist (or awaiting registration if newly qualified), passionate about person-centred rehabilitation and Home First principles, an excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with patients, carers and colleagues, organised, proactive and able to prioritise within a changing clinical environment and able to work both independently and as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Please note the Enhanced Rehabilitation Service operates 7 days a week, including bank holidays, the successful candidate will be required to be available a minimum of every 6 weeks to support the current rota system.
