Lead Specialist Practitioner District Nurse
NHS Lothian is recruiting a Lead Specialist Practitioner District Nurse at West Cluster to lead, coordinate, and develop the District Nursing Service within East Lothian. This role involves managing staff, enhancing high-quality, person-centered nursing care, and preventing hospital admissions.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and develop the District Nursing Service in East Lothian.
- Manage staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Enhance the provision of high-quality, person-centered nursing care to patients and families.
- Work with the Clinical Nurse Manager and others to develop and enhance services.
- Play a key role in preventing hospital admissions and facilitating early discharge.
- Collaborate with hospital-at-home services to ensure patients are treated at home when possible.
- Work flexibly across Lothian to meet service demands.

- PVG Scheme membership/record is required.
- If not already a PVG member, an application must be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before beginning the role.
