Publishing Graduate Program
Our graduate program is a rotation-based journey through our business, based in Dublin, London or Novato, with the possibility of a rotation in one of our international offices. You'll help shape your own experience as we match your learning goals to our business needs.
What is the Publishing Graduate Program?
When people hear ‘publishing,’ they usually think “books”. At 2K, it means everything that happens outside of game development to bring games to market and get them in front of players: advertising, budget planning, marketing technology, live services, growth strategy, player insights and analytics, and go-to-market planning. Our rotations give you hands-on experience across the whole publishing organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Before You Apply...
Who are we looking for?
We hire less for a specific degree and more for how you think and work. Across the business, the graduates who thrive tend to be curious, take ownership of their work and think critically about what they're being asked to do, as well as take feedback well. Beyond that, our graduates join us from science, economics, engineering, philosophy, social sciences, arts, and everywhere in between. Our recruitment process is task-based, so you get a real chance to show what you can do. Once you're in, our foundation training and ongoing development mean you're never figuring it out alone.
We consider a “recent graduate” to be anyone who has graduated within two years of the program (January 2025 - June 2027) start date in July 2027.
Do I have to be a gamer?
Not at all. Some of our graduates have never played a game, while others play every day, and both bring perspectives that we value. Whether you're an avid gamer or picking up a controller for the first time, you'll have a point of view to bring to any team you join.
How do we recruit?
We keep our process short and straightforward, because we know applying for jobs is stressful enough. We hire for analytical thinking, tested across three areas: quantitative skills, qualitative skills, and how quickly you pick up something new. Combined with your interview, that's how we get a sense of the curiosity, drive and critical thinking we're looking for. If that sounds like you, we'd love to receive your application.

What Will I Be Doing?
The program starts with training to set you up with foundational skills. After that, you'll take on a maximum of six three-month rotations across our publishing teams, from marketing and brand to product and player science. By the end of the program, you'll walk away with three core skill sets: analytical, technical, and commercial. We don't expect people to arrive with all three, and that's the point. We're looking for people with the potential to grow, and we'll help you get there.
You can explore each rotation in detail on our graduate program page.
What Happens After the Program?
By the end of the program, you'll be ready to specialize and apply for permanent roles across the business, whether that's digital marketing, marketing technology, or analytics. You'll have built a well-rounded skill set, from advanced Excel to our own approach to project management, and be well prepared to take on a role and thrive in it. At the core of this program is a commitment to growing our own future leaders, and we're fully invested in giving you the training and path to get there.
