Note: There is a requirement to work a shift team pattern to cover customer deliveries (after training). Whilst the role is largely undertaken during the normal working business day there is a requirement to cover late shifts and Saturday working to meet customer and business demands.
About The Role
This role provides technical service delivery to our customers through the use of Data Services technologies. By using market leading products and applying BT's process, quality and intellectual property, we provide our customers with services to facilitate their objectives through the power of communication. The role requires a skilled technical engineer who is an innovative, engaging, driven individual and has a proven record of achievement.
Please note you must either hold or be eligible for SC (Security Clearance), BPSS & NPPV 3 Clearance for this role, which will require a minimum of 5 years working history in the UK to be eligible.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Utilising experience and evolving technical ability to resolve technical delivery incidents, changes or problems relating to connectivity solutions for dedicated internet access and IP VPN.
- Progressing service delivery requests in line with agreed processes and procedures on both customer and provider edge routers and devices.
- Working effectively with the customer and/or their representatives, and other parts of BT during production, delivery & development.
- Providing remote support to onsite engineers during solution deployment and resolving issues.
- Actively supporting and implementing efficient ways of working and cost reduction.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Hands-on experience delivering Data Services technologies, including LAN/WAN, Cisco and Cisco Meraki solutions, with proven ability to configure, commission and support Cisco routers and related network services.
- CCNA certified (or equivalent networking qualification) with practical experience across routing, switching, VLANs, WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, BGP, HSRP, IP addressing, diagnostics, troubleshooting and PE/CE router configuration in a delivery environment.
- Proven ability to take ownership of technical deliveries, incidents and changes through to resolution, supported by strong organisational, prioritisation, communication and problem-solving skills while managing competing priorities and maintaining customer focus.
Desirable Skills/experience
- CCNP certification, working towards CCNP, or progressing towards another equivalent advanced vendor networking certification.
- Experience supporting complex technical deliveries involving PE/CE router configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting or service-impacting change activity.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders to resolve technical blockers, manage escalations and driving delivery issues through to completion.
