Role Description
The 2nd Line Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greater Manchester. The role involves providing advanced technical support to resolve escalated issues from 1st line support, including diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems. The engineer will configure and maintain servers, workstations, and networking equipment, and assist with the implementation of new systems and upgrades. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement of support processes and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills, with experience handling 2nd line or equivalent escalated issues.
- Solid Networking skills, including understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and configuration.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users and collaborate within a team.
- Knowledge of Transmission Lines or related telecommunications concepts, where applicable to client environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Cisco) are beneficial.
- Experience in an MSP or multi-client support environment is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, customer-focused mindset, and the capacity to work independently on-site in Greater Manchester are required.
