2nd Line IT Support - £36,000-£38,000 | Office Based (City)
Our client, a leading global architecture practice, is looking for a personable and proactive 2nd Line IT Support to join their close-knit internal IT team.
This role would suit someone with around 1.5 to 2 years' IT support experience who genuinely enjoys working with people as much as technology. Unlike many support roles, this is a highly visible, office-based position where you'll spend much of your day interacting with colleagues face-to-face, building relationships across the business, and becoming a trusted point of contact for IT support.
You'll be supporting a creative and professional user base, helping employees stay productive by providing a responsive, approachable, and customer-focused IT service.
What You'll Bring
- Around 1.5 to 2 years' experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, or 2nd Line Support role
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both in person and over the phone
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience supporting Microsoft technologies and end-user devices
- A calm, professional approach when dealing with urgent issues
- Excellent communication skills and a relationship-focused mindset

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing hands-on IT support to employees across the business
- Building strong working relationships and becoming a trusted IT contact for end users
- Resolving technical issues through a mix of desk-side, face-to-face, and remote support
- Working closely with colleagues to understand their needs and deliver a high-quality support experience

- Supporting office moves, onboarding activities, and technology rollouts
- Contributing to continuous improvements in the user experience and IT service delivery
- Maintaining accurate support records and sharing knowledge with the wider team
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of the business rather than hidden behind a helpdesk, combining strong technical skills with a people-first approach to support.
