Newark, Nottinghamshire | £35,000 – £38,000 DOE + Exceptional Benefits

Are you an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer looking for a hands-on role where you can take ownership of technical issues, support users across multiple sites and gain broader exposure to Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, networking and infrastructure?

We are recruiting for a well-established professional services organisation in Newark, Nottinghamshire, seeking a proactive IT Support Engineer to join its internal technology team.

The Role

This is a genuine 2nd line support position, combining day-to-day user support with device management, Microsoft 365 administration, infrastructure support and IT project work.

You will provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to colleagues across multiple offices, resolving technical issues remotely and on site while helping maintain a secure, reliable IT environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support across multiple locations
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity and user account issues
  • Managing and resolving IT support tickets from initial diagnosis through to completion
  • Building, configuring and deploying laptops, desktops, mobiles and peripherals
  • Supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Supporting Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows environments
  • Assisting with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management and device provisioning
  • Troubleshooting networking issues including TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, Wi-Fi and firewalls
  • Supporting Windows Server, Hyper-V and wider IT infrastructure
  • Assisting with software deployments, security updates, patching and backup checks
  • Supporting IT projects including hardware refreshes, migrations, upgrades and office moves

What We’re Looking For

You may currently be working as a:

  • 2nd Line Support Engineer
  • IT Support Engineer
  • Desktop Support Engineer
  • IT Technician
  • Service Desk Engineer
  • Technical Support Engineer

You should have good practical experience of:

  • Windows 10 / Windows 11 support
  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Exchange Online
  • Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Microsoft Intune or endpoint management
  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs and Wi-Fi
  • IT ticketing and remote support systems

Exposure to Azure, Windows Server, Hyper-V or professional services / legal IT environments would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you will be confident troubleshooting problems, communicating with users at all levels and taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to travel between offices.
