Infrastructure Support Engineer (Projects)
Colchester
£30,000 - £40,000 Depending on Experience
Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer looking to take the next step in your career?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing technology consultancy where you'll move beyond traditional support and gain hands-on experience delivering infrastructure projects, cloud deployments and client solutions.
Working alongside experienced consultants and senior engineers, you'll receive the training and support needed to develop into a Project Engineer, with exposure to a wide range of technologies and customer environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and networking projects.
- Assisting with the installation and configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Supporting cloud migrations and client onboarding projects.
- Assisting with data migration and implementation projects.
- Providing 2nd line technical support to business clients.
- Troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Windows, and network-related issues.
- Working alongside senior engineers on client deployments.
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing excellent technical support.
- Learning new technologies and developing your infrastructure knowledge.

About You
This role would suit somebody who has built a solid foundation within IT Support and is now looking to move into a more project-focused engineering role.
- Experience within a 2nd Line IT Support position.
- Good all-round knowledge of IT infrastructure.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
- Basic networking knowledge (switches, routers, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A genuine desire to continue learning and developing.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Any exposure to Azure, networking, firewalls, virtualization, CCTV, Ubiquiti, or cloud technologies would be advantageous but is not essential.
