RMT Technology is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our growing Technical Services team.
The successful candidate will be initially responsible for planning, delivering and supporting Microsoft 365 migration projects for clients across a range of sectors. Working alongside Infrastructure Engineers, Project Managers and customer stakeholders, the role will involve the migration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams and Entra ID.
This position combines technical project delivery, customer consultancy and hands-on implementation, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced Microsoft 365 professional to work with modern cloud technologies and contribute to business transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Migration Delivery
- Lead and execute Microsoft 365 migration projects.
- Perform tenant discovery, assessment and readiness activities.
- Support tenant consolidations arising from mergers, acquisitions and organisational restructuring.
- Validate migrated data and user access following project completion.
- Produce migration reports and project documentation.

Identity and Security
- Configure and support Microsoft Entra ID environments.
- Support implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication and Conditional Access policies.
- Review and maintain Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls.
- Assist with retention, eDiscovery and governance requirements where applicable.
Infrastructure and Platform Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Troubleshoot mail flow, authentication and migration-related issues.
- Support DNS changes including MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records during migration projects.
- Work with third-party migration platforms and tools.
Customer Engagement
- Participate in project scoping workshops and technical discovery sessions.
- Provide technical consultancy and recommendations to clients.
- Communicate project status, risks and remediation plans to stakeholders.
- Produce clear technical documentation and handover materials.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
Automation and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain technical knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development of internal standards, templates and documentation.

Experience Required
Essential
- Minimum three years' experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- Demonstrable experience delivering Microsoft 365 migration projects.
- Experience producing technical documentation and customer-facing reports.
- Microsoft 365 Administrator experience equivalent to MS-102 level.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience.
- Experience working within professional services or consultancy environments.
- Experience of multi-site or enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 deployments.
- Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
