Project Support Officer

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + car allowance + bonus
Location: Bristol - Hybrid
Clearance: Active DV Clearance

We're looking for an experienced Project Support Officer to join a growing P3M practice, supporting the delivery of complex projects and programmes across Government and other highly regulated environments. This is a great opportunity for someone with project support or PMO experience who enjoys bringing structure, organisation and consistency to project delivery, with the opportunity to develop towards a Project Manager or Project Management Consultant role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing day-to-day project and PMO support across multiple projects and programmes.
  • Maintaining project plans, RAID logs, project documentation and key delivery information.
  • Tracking milestones, deliverables and timelines to support successful project delivery.
  • Preparing project reports, dashboards and status updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting project meetings, capturing actions and following up with stakeholders.
  • Supporting project governance and ensuring projects follow agreed processes and standards.
  • Assisting with resource planning, scheduling and financial tracking.
  • Monitoring budgets, timesheets and project expenditure.
  • Supporting forecasting and reporting on project performance.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project processes and delivery efficiency.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, delivery leads and clients across complex environments.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working in a Project Support, PMO or similar project delivery role.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing environment.
  • Experience supporting projects or programmes in any sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • Experience working within Government, Defence or other regulated environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of project methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile would be advantageous.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira or Smartsheet would be beneficial.
  • Active DV Clearance is required.
