Salary: £61,200 (London) + 10% DV Allowance | Location - London | Under 3 years PQE £51,541
60% office attendance whilst working in OPEN
80% office attendance whilst working in CLOSED

The Government Legal Department is recruiting three lawyers to join the Special Advocates Support Office (SASO), a specialist team working on some of the UK's most sensitive, complex and high-profile litigation.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of public law, national security and constitutional justice, supporting Special Advocates in cases involving Closed Material Procedures (CMPs).

What you'll be doing
- Managing a varied and complex litigation caseload
- Supporting and briefing Special Advocates
- Attending hearings and legal conferences
- Liaising with courts, tribunals and legal representatives
- Preparing and managing sensitive case materials
- Supporting litigation involving national security and government decision-making
- Working closely with legal professionals across government and the wider legal community

What we're looking for
We're interested in hearing from lawyers who can demonstrate:
- A sound understanding of public law
- Experience of, or aptitude for, litigation
- Strong analytical and legal research skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong case management capability
