Company Description
MVGIE Studios (pronounced moo-ghee) is a UK-based indie studio that strives to tell meaningful stories through unconventional design. The core development team is currently made up of three members. Our projects are story-driven games that focus on diegetic design, immersion, and emotional authenticity. The studio is currently developing its first title, Stand Up, offering team members the opportunity to help shape an original IP from the ground up. Stand Up is a narrative-driven life simulator about becoming a successful stand-up comedian.
Role Description
We are looking for a 3D environment artist to help create the visual expression and assets for two 3D scenes for our upcoming game, Stand Up.
Our ideal artist has a portfolio showing expertise in creating game environments and proficiency in working with stylised art styles. We’re looking for someone who has experience working in Unity and, ideally, can implement assets, textures, and environments directly in-engine. The art style is not set in stone, and the existing assets are from asset packs, so some of this job will involve designing the art style while getting input from the team on how to proceed. Guidelines will be given on the direction we’re looking to go in, but it will in part be informed by your own stylised art style.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Scenes
You will be designing and implementing the visual aesthetic of two interior game scenes, going through ideation, asset creation, and implementation in-engine.
Scene 1, The Office: The player’s main environment. The focus is the player’s cluttered desk, which changes and gains new items as the story progresses. The room also includes interactive and decorative elements such as shelves, a corkboard, a radio, and other small objects.
Scene 2, The Brickmakers: A local, somewhat dingy pub with a small stage for comedy performances. This scene has a lot of creative freedom, with the main requirements being a performance area with a microphone and spaces for NPCs to sit or stand within the camera’s view. The scene will use a single camera angle and has some technical limitations around lighting due to additive scene loading.
We’ll provide further details about the scenes to shortlisted candidates.
Software and Hardware Requirements
Candidates should have a PC capable of running Unity and a reliable internet connection.
Candidates should have their own licences for any software they use to create and edit art assets.
