About the Role
Prototype Projects is looking for a hands-on 3D Print Team Leader to oversee the daily operation of our industrial 3D printing department.
Working with SLA, PSLA, SLS, DLP, and Micro-SLA technologies, you'll be responsible for keeping production running efficiently, ensuring our machines are maintained, and that customer orders are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
This is a practical, technically focused role combining production planning, machine management, and supervision of a small team.
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire, UK
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily CAD verification, build preparation, and production scheduling.
- Manage the operation, maintenance, and performance of our 3D printing equipment.
- Supervise and support 3D printing operatives, providing guidance and training.
- Work closely with our RP Workshop Team to maintain a smooth production workflow.
- Manage materials, consumables, and relationships with equipment and material suppliers.
- Maintain high standards of quality, health and safety, and housekeeping.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and prevent production issues.

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has practical experience in industrial 3D printing or additive manufacturing.
- Understands CAD, build preparation, and production processes.
- Is organised, proactive, and confident managing daily priorities.
- Has good technical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Takes pride in quality, attention to detail, and maintaining a well-run department.
- Is comfortable leading a small team while remaining actively involved in production.

Experience with SLA, SLS, or DLP technologies and previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
