Application Support Engineer / Consultant

We're looking for an Application Support Engineer / Consultant to join an engineering applications support team serving a large aerospace and high-value manufacturing user base. You'll provide functional and technical support across CATIA V5, VPM and a wider suite of engineering tools, keep critical interfaces and services running, and help deliver enhancements that improve how engineers work day to day.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands both the engineering user's perspective and the technical plumbing underneath: integrations, licensing, scripting and data reconciliation.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests across all supported engineering applications, working to agreed SLAs.
  • Support and reconcile document, material, product assembly and product structure data between SAP and VPM.
  • Provide functional and technical support to engineering users on CATIA V5, VPM and Q-Checker, including workbenches such as Advanced Mechanical Design, Electrical Harness Installation and Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FTA).
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and update CATIA macros, and contribute to macro improvements.
  • Administer software licences, including allocations, renewals and usage monitoring.
  • Create, maintain and support CAD user accounts and access permissions.
  • Support wider engineering applications including 3DCS, CATIA Composer, CAVA and RAMSIS.
  • Support engineering data transfer (DTN) and related SharePoint collaboration platforms.
  • Monitor application services, interfaces, scheduled jobs and infrastructure components, including XCAD, SAP-VPM interfaces and load balancers.
  • Carry out deployments and maintenance activities on engineering repositories.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues using UNIX, PowerShell, SQL and CATIA VBA.
  • Support business improvement initiatives, enhancements and project demands, such as title block updates and macro enhancements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
