Working Pattern: Full Time (FTE) (flexible working policy aligned, 3 days in office/2 days remote)
Help shape the infrastructure behind Ridge’s next stage of growth. We are modernising our on-premises estate, expanding hybrid cloud capabilities and increasing automation and AI across the business.
Join our Technology team as a 3rd Line IT Support Technician and help improve the resilience, security and manageability of our infrastructure while delivering platforms that support future growth.
You’ll combine hands-on infrastructure engineering and operational ownership with technical improvement and project delivery, gaining meaningful exposure to cloud technologies and our evolving hybrid cloud strategy.
The Role
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you’ll support and develop the technology platforms behind Ridge’s UK operations.
You’ll own core infrastructure operations while delivering improvements, projects, hybrid cloud adoption and automation.
You’ll solve technical challenges independently and collaborate across the business to deliver practical solutions.
You Will:
- Manage, support and enhance core infrastructure services across our server, storage, virtualisation, networking, identity, backup and cloud platforms.
- Investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
- Contribute to hybrid cloud initiatives, helping modernise services and improve operational efficiency.
- Strengthen platform security, resilience, monitoring, disaster recovery and lifecycle management practices.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine processes and improve consistency across the technology estate.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Work closely with the Service Desk, suppliers and technology partners to ensure effective support and delivery of technology services.

Engineering, Delivery & Development
Alongside operational support, you’ll deliver infrastructure projects, drive improvements and help shape Ridge’s technology estate.
As you develop, you’ll gain greater ownership and build your technical and people leadership skills.
You Will:
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects from design and planning through to implementation and operational handover.
- Take ownership of technical workstreams, ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard and aligned with business requirements.
- Contribute to infrastructure standards, engineering best practice and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and provide guidance to colleagues where appropriate.
- Work closely with stakeholders, suppliers and project teams to support successful delivery of technology initiatives.
- Develop the technical leadership, stakeholder management and mentoring skills required for progression into more senior positions within the team.
This role offers technical growth, broader ownership and opportunities to shape Ridge’s infrastructure strategy.

You’ll have experience improving business-critical infrastructure in a complex environment, with strong technical skills, sound judgement and an ambition to grow.

Essential Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong practical experience supporting Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and core Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Experience administering VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualisation environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise server, SAN and storage infrastructure.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including switching, routing and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting enterprise networking technologies such as Aruba or equivalent.
- Experience in supporting enterprise firewalls, firewall administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud and/or cloud migration initiatives. Experience with endpoint management technologies such as Intune and SCCM.
- Experience investigating complex infrastructure incidents and performing effective root-cause analysis.
- Experience planning and delivering technical changes with appropriate testing, change control, documentation and operational handover.
- Understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring and lifecycle management.
- Experience contributing to or delivering infrastructure projects.
- The confidence to take ownership of technical decisions while recognising when specialist, supplier or wider team involvement is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
Additional Requirements
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.
- The role will involve occasional travel to Ridge offices and other sites across the UK.
- Occasional evening and weekend working will be required to support planned infrastructure changes, maintenance and project activities.
