My client is one of the most exciting and fastest growing tech companies in Scotland. Join here, and your career will really take off.

At 3rd Line, you’re not just resolving incidents, you’re defining how systems behave under pressure. This role sits as the technical escalation point from 2nd line.

You’ll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, stepping in when systems fail, but also ensuring they fail less often.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and resolve incidents that cannot be solved at lower tiers
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major outages, producing actionable improvements, not just reports
  • Optimise core infrastructure across: Compute (enterprise servers), Virtualisation platforms Storage and Networking.
  • Drive problem management, eliminating recurring faults at source
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, capacity expansion
  • Collaborate with vendors and third parties on escalations, fixes, and design improvements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
