About The Opportunity

What success looks like in this role:

Unisys is offering an exciting opportunity to join our four-year Technical Degree Apprenticeship Programme, designed for ambitious individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to build a successful career in IT.

Based full-time at our Milton Keynes office, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across a range of technical disciplines while studying towards a recognised university degree one day per week. This is a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, develop industry-relevant skills, and work alongside experienced professionals within a global technology organisation.

Throughout the programme, you will contribute to real business projects, develop practical technical expertise, and build the professional skills needed for a long-term career in technology.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Degree Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced managers, mentors, and technical specialists, gaining exposure to a variety of IT disciplines. Responsibilities may include:

Technical Support

  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Support the resolution of network connectivity and system configuration problems.
  • Help manage and maintain company devices and technology assets.
  • Provide first-line technical support to users and teams.

Software Development

  • Develop and maintain basic code, scripts, and internal applications.
  • Support software testing activities and help identify defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and learn secure coding practices.
  • Gain experience using modern development tools and version control systems.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Produce reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Support data-driven decision-making across business teams.

Networking and Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Monitor system and network performance to identify potential issues.
  • Support troubleshooting activities related to hardware, networking, and security.

Project and Business Support

  • Assist with project coordination, planning, and progress tracking.
  • Conduct research and gather information for reports and presentations.
  • Support business teams by organising and maintaining project documentation.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn, develop new skills, and build a career in technology.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Qualifications And Skills

  • A-Level qualifications (or equivalent) are required.
  • Strong interest in technology and IT-related disciplines.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.

Experience

  • No prior industry experience is required.
  • Any experience gained through education, personal projects, work experience, or extracurricular activities would be beneficial.
