Research Culture Data and Evaluation Analyst
Grade: SG7 | Department: Strategic Planning | Fixed-term
The University of Greenwich is looking for a skilled and insight-driven Research Culture Data and Evaluation Analyst to support the development and delivery of our Strategy, People, and Research Environment (SPRE) Framework, aligned to REF 2029 and Strategy 2030.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how research culture is understood, evaluated and improved across the University. Working within Strategic Planning and collaborating closely with Greenwich Research & Innovation (GRI), EDI, People Directorate, Sustainability teams and faculty leadership, you will play a central role in building an evidence base that informs strategic decision-making and drives meaningful institutional change.
The postholder will lead on collecting, linking, analysing and interpreting a wide range of institutional datasets and mixed-methods evidence to support research culture evaluation, institutional reporting and REF environment development.
Duties and responsibilities will typically include working as part of a team to:
- Collect, integrate and analyse institutional datasets relevant to research culture and Strategy, People, and Research Environment priorities, including surveys, HR data, EDI data, Open Access compliance and sustainability metrics
- Conduct mixed-methods analysis and evaluation activities to support REF 2029 Strategy, People, and Research Environment development and wider institutional priorities
- Develop dashboards, indicators, visualisations and reporting tools to support strategic planning and evidence-informed decision-making
- Support the development of consistent SPRE indicators and evaluation frameworks aligned to Strategy 2030, REF and institutional KPIs
- Contribute to communities of practice, institutional reporting and continuous improvement initiatives relating to data, evaluation and research culture

Furthermore, Applicants Should Be Able To Demonstrate
- Significant experience in data analysis, evaluation, and insight generation within large, complex organisations, preferably in the Higher Education sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience interpreting and communicating complex datasets
- High-level ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative data and develop visual dashboards or performance reports
- Experience designing dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to adapt messaging for senior and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outputs to deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaborative working skills
Experience working within Higher Education supporting REF, KEF or institutional reporting activities, would be advantageous. Experience using tools such as Power BI, R, Python, SPSS or similar analytical platforms would also be beneficial.
