Together, we are creating greater scale, resilience and shared ambition to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.
Background
The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. We also have a wide portfolio of post-qualifying provision including a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader in healthcare simulation and interprofessional learning to drive the next phase of strategic development within the School of Health Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a substantial and growing simulation and IPL portfolio that supports undergraduate and postgraduate education across nursing, midwifery, allied health professions. Working collaboratively with academic, technical and professional services teams, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for simulation-based education and interprofessional learning across the School. You will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative learning experiences that enhance student preparedness for practice, professional capability and patient-centred care. You will play a key role in shaping future curriculum developments, supporting staff capability, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing simulation scholarship, research and knowledge exchange. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
