On the 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.
Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.
Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.
The School of Education, a thriving department of around 45 academic staff, represents a continuation of teacher training started in 1906 at Avery Hill College. Working in partnership with a broad range of educational settings across London and the South East of England; the School delivers programmes in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Further Education, and advanced and professional development at Master’s and Doctoral levels.
The School is part of the University of Greenwich’s highly impactful Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Drawing on long-established and extensive partnerships across a wide range of professional sectors, the Faculty has a strong focus on professional workforce development.
Embedded in the community but with a clear global outlook, the Faculty offers a welcoming and supportive environment to students from a wide range of backgrounds, and at various stages of academic and professional development. We aim to transform the lives of our students by providing education that provide the skills and knowledge to make a real difference to local and global communities, and empower and enable our learners to be creative, confident, and critical contributors to society.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
