On 1st August 2026, The University of Greenwich and the University of Kent formed a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South-East (LASE) University Group.

Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.

Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.

The Faculty of Engineering & Science is one of four faculties at the University of Greenwich, split across two campuses – the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent, and the Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London. Dedicated to inspirational learning, combining teaching with work placements and impactful research and is a complete hub for all STEM subjects within the University.

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Technician within the Faculty of Engineering and Science to provide specialist technical support for teaching and research activities in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the student learning experience and supporting a range of research projects. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with and support the Biosciences Technical Team across a variety of teaching activities.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of practical teaching sessions for foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. This will include providing technical guidance and demonstrating the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment, techniques, and methodologies relevant to the disciplines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
