Role Description
The 5G Core Network Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing 5G core network solutions, including architecture, configuration, and integration with existing infrastructures.

- Designing, implementing, and optimizing 5G core network solutions
- Performing architecture, configuration, and integration with existing infrastructures
- Troubleshooting network issues
- Performing root cause analysis
- Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of core network services
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support deployments for mobile network operators and enterprise clients
- Contributing to network planning and capacity management
- Assisting in testing and validating new features and services
- Maintaining documentation
- Adhering to industry standards and security best practices
- Continuously improving network operations to support ekiva’s 5G offerings

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Network Engineering, with hands-on experience configuring and managing IP networks.
- Expertise in Core Network technologies, including 4G/5G core components (e.g., AMF, SMF, UPF, PCRF/PCF) and related protocols.
- Proficiency in Network Design and Network Architecture, including capacity planning, redundancy, and scalability for 5G environments.
- Advanced Troubleshooting skills for complex network issues, including performance analysis, monitoring, and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with telecom-grade systems, cloud-native architectures (containers, Kubernetes), and virtualized network functions (NFV).
- Familiarity with industry standards (3GPP, ETSI) and security practices for mobile core networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with mobile network operators, vendors, or enterprise telecom projects is highly beneficial.
