5G RAN Field Engineers required for long term contract positions across England.
Overview
My client is looking for experienced 5G RAN Field Engineers / Telecoms Field Engineers to support a major nationwide mobile network rollout across the UK.
Engineers will be responsible for the installation, upgrade, commissioning and integration of Ericsson Radio Access Network equipment on mobile sites across the country.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced mobile telecoms engineers to work on one of the UK's largest network modernizations and 5G deployment programmes.
Responsibilities
- Install and upgrade Ericsson 4G and 5G RAN equipment.
- Install radios, basebands, antennas, RRUs/RRHs, fibre and associated cabling.
- Support installation of Ericsson Massive MIMO / AIR equipment.
- Carry out equipment swaps and network modernization activities.
- Commission, integrate and test new Ericsson equipment.
- Perform site acceptance testing and resolve installation or commissioning issues.
- Complete DC power, fibre, alarm and connectivity checks.
- Work safely on rooftops, towers, masts and monopoles.
- Complete site documentation, photographs, checklists and handover packs.
- Work in accordance with RAMS, Ericsson/customer standards and UK Health & Safety requirements.
- Travel to mobile sites across the UK as required.

Experience Required
Candidates should have previous experience working within the UK mobile telecommunications industry, ideally supporting network rollout, upgrade or swap projects.
Experience should include some of the following:
- Ericsson RAN / Ericsson Radio System equipment
- 4G LTE and 5G NR deployments
- Radio and baseband installation
- Antenna, feeder, fibre and DC installation
- Ericsson AIR / Massive MIMO equipment
- RAN commissioning and integration
- Equipment swaps and network upgrades
- Site acceptance testing
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
- DICI / installation and commissioning activities
Previous experience working on Vodafone, Three, EE/BT or other major UK mobile networks would be highly advantageous.
Certifications
Candidates should hold current relevant telecoms Health & Safety certifications,
- Working at Height / Advanced Climber
- Tower Climbing & Rescue
- RF Awareness
- Rooftop Safety / Access
- Emergency First Aid
- Asbestos Awareness
- Manual Handling
- Valid medical / fitness to work at height

Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving license.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Comfortable working at height.
- Willing and able to travel throughout the UK.
- Willing to work away from home when projects require.
- Strong understanding of telecoms Health & Safety standards.
- Able to read installation drawings, site designs and technical documentation.

This is a long-term opportunity to work on a major nationwide 5G network rollout, installing and commissioning the latest Ericsson RAN technology across the UK.
